Faction Roster Generator

Turn a faction from an organization on paper into the people the party can actually meet, recruit, threaten, or betray — each with a personal motive, a stance toward the faction, and a connection to another member on the roster.

The roster inherits this faction's ideology, goals, methods, and internal tensions — the more specific this is, the more the members reflect it.

AI writes unique, rich lore on each generate.

Faction Roster Generator FAQ

Do I need a generated faction first?

No, though it works best that way. Generate a faction and select Generate Roster on the result to carry its details straight over, or paste your own faction's details into the context box on this page.

What does the faction roster generator create?

It generates 3 to 6 notable members of a faction, each with a role, a personal motive distinct from the faction's own goal, a stance toward the faction (loyalist, zealot, opportunist, trapped, reformer, secret traitor, or similar), a distinctive trait, an immediate hook, a leverage point, and a connection to another member on the same roster.

Will the roster always be a leader and underlings?

No. Choosing a structure — hierarchy, cell network, council, warband, corporate ladder, or congregation — changes the shape of the roster to match, so a clandestine cult produces a genuinely different roster than a corporation.

How does saving a generated roster work?

Clicking 'Save to Codex' stores the roster draft in your browser's local storage. Open Codex Cryptica and it imports automatically as a Faction entity. Each member section also has its own Open as Character action to continue developing that member individually.
